How can we help?

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your trip.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your device. Instead of inserting a physical SIM card, you scan a QR code to install a mobile data plan. No swapping, no fumbling with tiny cards — just instant connectivity when you land.

What's the difference between an eSIM and a regular SIM card?

A traditional SIM is a physical card you insert into your phone. An eSIM is digital — it's built into your device and activated by scanning a QR code. eSIMs are faster to set up, support multiple plans at once, and are ideal for travellers who want to avoid roaming fees without juggling physical cards.

Is my device eSIM compatible?

Most modern smartphones support eSIM. Compatible devices include:

  • iPhone: iPhone XR and newer (note: iPhones from mainland China and Hong Kong are not eSIM compatible)
  • Samsung: Galaxy S20 series and newer, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip series
  • Google Pixel: Pixel 3 and newer
  • Other brands: Motorola Razr/Edge, Huawei P40/Mate 40, OnePlus 11+, Sony Xperia, Xiaomi 13+, and many others

To check on iPhone: go to Settings → General → About and look for an "Available SIM" or "Digital SIM" entry. For Android: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?

Yes. Your device must be carrier-unlocked to use a Travoyer eSIM. A locked phone is restricted to one carrier's network and won't accept a new eSIM plan. If you're unsure, contact your carrier or check your device settings.

How do I buy an eSIM plan on Travoyer?

Browse plans by destination, select the data size and validity that suits your trip, add to cart, and checkout. After payment, your eSIM QR code is emailed to you instantly. You can also access it any time from your account under My Orders.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. All transactions are processed securely by Stripe in US Dollars (USD).

Do I need to create an account to buy?

Yes — you need a Travoyer account to complete checkout. This allows us to securely deliver your eSIM, store your order history, and send you important notifications like expiry reminders. Creating an account takes less than a minute.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The price you see is what you pay. All prices are in USD and include everything — no activation fees, no roaming charges, no auto-renewals. Each plan is a one-time purchase.

Can I use a promo code?

Yes — if you have a promo code, enter it at checkout before completing payment. Discounts are applied automatically. Each code has its own terms, usage limits, and expiry date.

How do I install my eSIM?

After purchase, you'll receive an email with a QR code. Here's how to install it:

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → scan the code

Android (Google Pixel, Samsung, etc.): Settings → Network & Internet (or Connections) → SIM Cards → Add eSIM → scan the code

We recommend installing your eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you travel. Your plan activates the first time you connect to a local network at your destination.

When does my plan start?

Your plan activates the first time your device connects to a mobile network at your destination — not at the time of purchase. So if your trip is weeks away, buy in advance without worrying about your validity countdown starting early.

Can I scan the QR code more than once?

No. Each QR code is single-use and can only be scanned once. Once your eSIM is installed on a device, it cannot be transferred to another device. Keep your QR code safe and do not share it. If you need help reinstalling, contact support@travoyer.com.

Do I need to remove my existing SIM card?

No. Your Travoyer eSIM works alongside your existing physical SIM. Most phones let you choose which SIM to use for data. Simply set your Travoyer eSIM as the data SIM when you arrive at your destination.

Can I install my eSIM on the plane?

Yes, as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection (e.g. in-flight Wi-Fi). That said, we recommend installing before you board to avoid any connection issues.

What does "unlimited" mean for unlimited plans?

Unlimited plans include a daily high-speed data allowance (typically 1GB–5GB depending on the plan and destination). Once you reach the daily cap, speeds are reduced for the rest of that day. High-speed data resets every 24 hours from first use. You can keep browsing, messaging, and streaming at reduced speeds with no hard cutoff.

Does my Travoyer eSIM include calls or texts?

No. Travoyer plans are data-only. For calls and texts, use your primary SIM or apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, or iMessage over your Travoyer data connection.

Can I use my eSIM as a mobile hotspot?

Hotspot availability depends on the specific plan and destination. Check the plan details page before purchasing. Where hotspot is supported, you can share your data connection with other devices.

What happens if I run out of data?

If your data allowance runs out before your plan expires, you can purchase a new plan for your destination. Your existing eSIM profile stays installed — simply buy another plan and it will top up your connection.

What if I travel to multiple countries?

Some of our plans cover multiple countries or regions. When browsing, look for regional plans (e.g. Europe, Asia, Global) that cover your full itinerary. If you're visiting a country not covered by your plan, you'll need to purchase a separate plan for that destination.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are considered if your eSIM could not be installed due to a technical issue on our end, or if your eSIM failed to connect and no data was consumed. Refunds are not available if your device is incompatible, if data has already been used, or if the plan has expired. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of purchase. Email support@travoyer.com with your order ID and a description of the issue.

My eSIM isn't connecting. What should I do?

Try these steps first:

  • Make sure your device is eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked
  • Go to your device settings and confirm the Travoyer eSIM is set as the active data SIM
  • Toggle airplane mode on and off
  • Restart your device
  • Make sure data roaming is enabled for the Travoyer eSIM

If the issue persists, contact us at support@travoyer.com with your order ID and device model and we'll help resolve it.
